NODA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

WEDNESDAY APRIL 19, 2006     7 p.m.

EAST JEFFERSON HOSPITAL CONFERENCE ROOM

Dr. Dov Glaser presents

"Interact via Internet Instead of Going Postal":

"Keeping in touch with patients in post-Katrina Louisiana has been difficult to say the least. Though postal mail and telephone service are erratic at best, email and text messaging have remained reliable.  As we rebuild our practices and look to the future, streamlining our communications is essential. Discover best practices for leveraging the Internet to view your practice schedule, automate patient communications, and schedule hygiene appointments online.

NODA member Dov Glazer, and Ben Glazer, CTO of UAppoint, will present

cutting-edge tools and techniques that improve practice efficiency, enhance patient satisfaction, reduce costs, and increase profitability -- with or without another hurricane."

President’s Message

Greetings to Everyone:

Don Nolan asked me two years ago why I wanted to be President of the New Orleans Dental Association.  I thought for a second and answered “it will look good on my obituary!” In all seriousness, though, I am at a time in my life where I can devote the time necessary for the job.  Each of us should make time to help “pull the wagon”; we cannot be content to ride all of the time.  I have worked on the peer review committee since the middle 80's and have been Chairman for several years.  I have also been State Chairman for the past two years.  This was a job that I could perform at my own time. It gave me a great deal of satisfaction to help resolve disputes between patients and dentists before civil court or the State Board got involved. There are many jobs in this association that can be performed at varying schedules.

I have been on the Board of Governors for the last six or so years “in training” for this time.  I have had the honor to work with some truly great organizational minds in this organization.  However, many of these colleagues have had to be “recycled” in to different jobs in the organization.  This is where you come in.  Bring new creative minds to the forefront by volunteering on committees to help “pull the wagon”.  Your organization needs you now!

We are successfully getting things back on track in the organization.  The ADA is sending money to subsidize our dues for this year (we will work on them for next year later).  We have a general membership meeting later this month featuring Dr. Dov Glazer and a presentation on using your computer to find your patients and restart your practice after Katrina.  May will feature the Annual Crawfish Boil.  This event will be sponsored by Benco Dental Supply Co.  All of you members that did not come last year...please come!

We have “new management” running the New Orleans Dental Conference Committee and a fabulous Conference is promised for April, 2007.

Your Board is working very hard for you.  I know that most of you have been seriously affected by Katrina, but the “show must go on”.

Your Board is working for you!
